Richard Knox

Richard was appointed in January 2017 as Director for Financial Services (International) in HM Treasury, responsible for the UK’s regulatory policy on EU and wider international financial services issues including the UK’s withdrawal from the EU. Prior to this, Richard was a Deputy Director in the Financial Services Group with responsibility for securities and markets issues, including issues related to derivatives reform, market conduct, financial benchmarks, market infrastructures and access to finance. Richard has led UK negotiations in the EU on a range of post-crisis markets legislation including EMIR and MIFID.
