Joanna Surała, a Polish citizen, is a senior specialist in EU integration at the International Department of Narodowy Bank Polski seconded for three weeks to Bruegel. Her main scope of duties embraces coordinating of the consultation process of documents circulated under the ESCB, following developments related to euro zone enlargement, tracking the works of the EU institutions and bodies, and writing memos on EU risk assessments, as well as financial markets issues with a special focus on NPLs and shadow banking. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Applied Linguistics from the University of Warsaw and a diploma in Banking and Finance from SGH Warsaw School of Economics. She speaks fluent English and Russian and conversational German.
