Ilze Nagla

Ilze Nagla is Europe Correspondent for Latvian Television (LTV). As an investigative journalist she previously hosted a well known prime-time programme on LTV. One of her discoveries resulted in police raiding her home in search for information sources that she refused to give up. Ilze filed a complaint about the illegal search at her home and took the case all the way to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), which found in her favour.
Ilze Nagla has been a part-time lecturer at the University of Latvia for 17 years and has previously worked in PR – managing corporate communications for the stock exchange, Microsoft Baltics and an oil & shipping holding.
Ilze studied journalism at the University of Latvia and at the School of Journalism in Aarhus (Denmark) and in Utrecht (Netherlands). She holds a Masters Degree in International Relations from the University of Birmingham (UK) and has studied media economics at the University of Oslo (Norway).
