Hugues Chenet

Hugues Chenet, PhD in Geophysics, is Honorary Senior Research Associate at University College London – Institute for Sustainable Resources. He is Co-Founder and Non-Executive Director of the 2° Investing Initiative think tank and was 2°ii ‘s Scientific Director (2012-16).
Hugues started his career in 1999 in academic research, at the Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris (IPGP) and University Paris Diderot, then at the Japanese Space Exploration Agency (ISAS-JAXA, Tokyo). From 2007, he then worked for a management consulting firm (OTC Conseil) where he developed assessment and management approaches for climate risk in finance. In 2012, he founded the 2° Investing Initiative non-profit organisation, which aims at aligning the finance sector with climate goals. Since 2016, Hugues collaborates with different research and teaching programmes, in France and abroad (e.g. UCL, Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (Japan), MinesParisTech, University Lyon 2, AgroParisTech, University Paris Ouest).
