Hakim Ben Hammouda

Former Minister of Finance, Tunisia,

Hakim Ben Hammouda was Tunisia's Minister of Economy and Finance in the government of Prime Minister Mehdi Jomaa. He was also a Special Counselor of the President of the African Development Bank. Earlier, he was Director of the Institute of Training and the Technical Cooperation Department at the WTO. Before holding these posts he was Chief Economist and Director of the Trade, Finance and Economic Development Department of the UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA). He was also Director of the UNECA Department for Trade and Regional Integration (2003 - 2006) and Director of UNECA's office in Central Africa (2001 - 2003).

Ben Hammouda holds a doctorate in international economics from the University of Grenoble, France. He has taught international economics and development economics in several universities.
