Chief Adviser to the Governor, Central Bank of Hungary
György Szapáry has a Ph.D. in economics from the Université Catholique de Louvain. He worked at the EU Commission, the IMF in Washington and was the IMF’s Senior Resident Representative in Hungary. He was Deputy Governor of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank and Ambassador of Hungary to the United States. Currently he is Chief Adviser to the Governor of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank, honorary professor at the Corvinus University and President of the Council of the ELTE University, Budapest.
