Charles (Chuck) Knirsch, MD, MPH is Vice President, Therapeutic Vaccines Program Lead, Vaccine Clinical Research and Development with responsibility for the clinical evaluation of Pfizer’s therapeutic vaccine candidates. Chuck is an Infectious Diseases physician and epidemiologist, who has contributed to or led development teams that have successfully completed several NDA’s on Pfizer’s anti-infective and specialty medicines portfolio. Chuck has also collaborated on co-development studies with The International Trachoma Initiative, NIH, CDC, and the World Health Organization, the latter leading to work to eliminate blinding trachoma by the year 2020. Currently Chuck is involved with several pro-competitive initiatives, including The Innovative Medicines Initiative, The Clinical Trials Transformation Initiative, and The Foundation of NIH.  He has published extensively and is co-author of the 4th and 5th Editions of the textbook, Parasitic Diseases.
