Head of Unit, Tax administration and fight against tax fraud, European Commission, DG TAXUD,

Head of the Unit "Tax administration and fight against tax fraud" in the Directorate-General for Taxation and Customs Union, European Commission (DG TAXUD), since 1st July 2015. This unit is in charge of providing the necessary legislative framework and environment at EU level to foster administrative cooperation and mutual assistance between Member States in the interest of the smooth functioning of the internal market and the fight against fiscal fraud in particular. It also provides support to tax administrations of Member States to enable them to fulfil their role within the internal market through the organisation and provision of technical assistance and sharing of best practices.

Previous professional experience includes heading the Unit "Protection of citizens and enforcement of IPR" in the DG TAXUD (2009-2015); working as a Member of the Cabinet of Commissioner Kovács (2004-2009), in charge of Customs policy, trade, development and agriculture; working as Desk officer in the Directorate-General for Environment, in charge of Trade and Environment issues (2001-2004), following six years in DG TAXUD in the Unit responsible for Rules of Origin.

Education : Diplôme d'Etudes Approfondies in Comparative Political Science (France) and one-year training at the Ecole Nationale des Douanes in France.
