Anne Houtman

Principal Advisor at European Commission, DG ENERGY,

After obtaining her PhD in Statistics from Princeton University, Anne Houtman held various positions in the academic and private sectors before entering the European Commission in 1985. She worked in Eurostat before joining the Directorate General for Competition in 1987. In 1999 she joined the cabinet of President Prodi and became his Deputy Head of Cabinet. In 2004 she became Director in DG Internal Market, then in 2006, in DG Transport and Energy. After 4 years as Head of the Representation of the European Commission in France, she returned to DG Energy as principal advisor on the 1st of September.
