Anna Ekström

Anna Ekström is Minister for Upper Secondary School and Adult Education in Sweden.

Previously she was Director General of Skolverket (National Agency for Education) in Sweden since 2011. Before becoming Director General, she was the president of the Swedish Confederation of Professional Associations, Saco. Saco is a confederation of 24 independent associations that together have over half a million members, all of whom are academics or graduate professionals with a university or college degree.

Previously she held the position as State Secretary for the Ministry of Industry, Employment and Communications. During the Swedish EU presidency in 2001 she was coordinator for employment policy. In 2003 she was a member of the High Level Task Force of Employment headed by Wim Kok.

Anna is also President in the Board of Linköping University
