Andrzej Rzońca

Member of the Monetary Policy Council, National Bank of Poland,

Born in 1977, he graduated from the Warsaw School of Economics where he obtained his PhD degree. He has also completed a joint executive MBA programme of the Warsaw School of Economics and the University of Minnesota, as well as internships at the World Bank and the European Central Bank.

Dr Rzońca is an adjunct professor at the Chair of International Comparative Studies at the Warsaw School of Economics and a lecturer of the Canadian Executive Master of Business Administration Program – a programme conducted jointly by the Warsaw School of Economics and the University of Quebec at Montreal.

From 2001 to 2007, Dr. Rzońca worked at Narodowy Bank Polski: from 2002 to 2004, he headed the Division of International Comparative Studies at the NBP International Department, and in 2004, he was appointed Advisor to the NBP President. He was also a member of the editorial board of “Bank i Kredyt” (Bank and Credit), a scientific journal issued by NBP.

From 2007 to 2010, Dr. Rzońca held the position of Vice-President and Director of the Analytical Department of the Civil Development Forum. Previously, he also cooperated with the Centre for Social and Economic Research.

Dr. Rzońca is the author of scientific publications and papers in the field of public finances, monetary policy and economic growth. He holds the Kronenberg Foundation award, the most prestigious award in the field of Poland’s economy.

On 13 January 2010, the Senate of the Republic of Poland appointed Dr. Andrzej Rzońca as a member of the Monetary Policy Council.
