Ana Botin

Executive chairman, Santander Group,

Ana Botin is the Executive Chairman of the Santander Group since 2014. She graduated in Economics from the University Bryn Mawr College (Pennsylvania, USA).

Ana Botin joined Banco Santander after a period at JP Morgan (New York, 1980-1988). Between 1992 and 1998 she led the expansion of Santander in Latin America. From 2002 to 2010 she was executive chairman of Banesto, and from 2010-2014 she was CEO of Santander UK.

She is the founder and Chair of CyD Foundation and Empieza por Educar Foundation, the Spanish subsidiary of the international NGO Teach for All which trains talented young graduates to be teachers.

Ana Botin is also a Board member of the Coca-Cola Company and a member of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) CEO Advisory Board.
