Ali Hached

Ali Hached has more than 40 years of experience in the gas and oil Industry, of which the last 37 years were dedicated to the Algerian oil company Sonatrach.

After five years of research and teaching in Thermodynamics and Industrial Processes in the Algerian Institute of Petroleum, he joined Sonatrach in 1979 as the Assistant of the Vice-President of the Marketing Branch. He was appointed as the corporate Director of Strategy and Prospective in 1987 where he was in charge of the elaboration of the marketing strategy in relation with oil and gas projects.

He became Executive Vice-President in charge of the marketing of Hydrocarbons in 1995, and later was appointed a member of the Executive Committee and member of the Board of directors of Sonatrach. He was also member of the Board of directors of the International Holding based in Amsterdam and

Chairman of the Board of the subsidiary company named SPC “Sonatrach Petroleum Corporation” based in London and dealing with the off-shore trading of oil products.

He was Chairman of the Holding of the subsidiary companies of the Sonatrach group including Distribution of Oil products Company (Naftal), Industrial Gas Company (Cogiz) and Maritime Transport of the Hydrocarbons (Hyproc).

Between January 2007 and May 2016 Hached was Senior Advisor of the Minister of Energy and Mines and of the CEO of Sonatrach.
