Taxation and competitiveness

One of the main objectives of the project is to examine how tax policy and tax administration shape European Union competitiveness. This includes exploring how competitiveness should be defined in the European context, assessing both traditional and emerging drivers of competitiveness, such as investment incentives, innovation and digitalisation, and analysing the interaction between tax policy and related areas, including trade and the broader investment environment.

The research aims to generate actionable and evidence-based insights that support coherent, forward-looking and future-proof tax strategies for the EU and its member states.
