On the 19th of February, Bruegel’s Nicolas Véron and Guntram Wolff held a conference call with representatives of the media to discuss their latest Policy Contribution, From supervision to resolution: next steps on the road to European banking union. The paper was jointly released with PIIE and was presented at the Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) Committee of the European Parliament in anticipation of their hearing of Mario Draghi. It claims the need for decisive action to restore trust in the European banking sector before the Single Resolution mechanism is finalized. Bruegel gratefully acknowledge The Peterson Institute’s cooperation in arranging this call.
