Workshops in the framework of the French presidency

Description: The research project consists in the organization of two workshops in the aftermath of the European Commission communication of its Climate Change Action Plan. The workshops aim at creating a platform for discussions, based on elements resulting from the scientific research. Discussions have been driven by national and European policy makers as well as by non-European national representatives, experts or industrialists. The first workshop intends to discuss the political framework set by the European Commission, including the reform of the emissions trading system (ETS) as well as a legislative framework regarding renewable energy and biofuel. The second workshop intends to work on the experience and on the flaws of the Kyoto Protocol, with the goal of setting an efficient global political framework in favor of fighting against climate change.
