Member of the board
Wolfgang Kopf, born 1964, has been Senior Vice President for Public and Regulatory Affairs at Deutsche Telekom AG since November 2006, reporting directly to the CEO. He joined Deutsche Telekom Group in 1995 as Senior Manager responsible for International Business Development and M&A. In 1997 he became head of Deutsche Telekom’s Competition Law department and in 2000, head of International Government Affairs. From end of 2002 to November 2006 he was the Head of T-Mobile International AG & Co. KG Public and Regulatory Affairs Department.
Wolfgang Kopf studied Arts and Law at the Universities of Mainz and Speyer, specializing in European and International Law. He also holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from the University of London. During his training as a lawyer, he worked for a leading international law firm and the European Commission.
Wolfgang Kopf is Member of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Telekom Deutschland GmbH, and Member of the Board of Trustees of Deutsche Telekom Stiftung. He represents Deutsche Telekom in various Industry Associations, inter alia he chairs the Chief Regulatory Officers Group at GSMA and he is the Convenor of the European Round Table’s Competition Policy Working Group.
Wolfgang Kopf is the co-editor of two German Law Journals. He is also a Member of the Foundation Board of the International Charlemagne Prize of Aachen, a Member of the Administrative Board of the German Federal Film Association (FFA) and serves as Lay Judge at the Public Procurement Tribunals of the German Federal Cartel Office.
