Jose Manuel Campa Fernandez is Professor of Finance and Economics at IESE Business School. From 2009 to 2011 he was Secretary of State for Economic Affairs, Ministry of Economy and Finance in Spain. From 1991 to 2001 he was Associate Professor of Economics and International Business at Stern School of Business, New York University.

During 1999 he was Research Associate at Center for Economic Policy Research. In the meantime, from 1996 to 2004, he was Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research. Between 1994 and 2006, he was consulting for the European Commission, the Bank of Spain, the Basel Bank for International Settlements, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the Interamerican Development Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.

He has also been engaged in private consulting: Businesses Valuations, Insurance consulting, asset valuation for the Spanish Justice, and the International Courts of Arbitration in Paris, Geneva, New York and the Netherlands. He holds an M.A. in Economy (1989) and a Ph.D. in Economy (1991) from Harvard University. He also has a degree in Economic Science (1987) and a degree in Law (1989) from the University of Oviedo (Spain). He is married with three children.
